Regia Aeronautica Ferrari F40

Post by fredk »

Ok, so I'm gonna go with it, as I cant think of anything else to do.
A Ferrari F40 in sand and smoke rings as seen on Regia Aeronautica aeroplanes in WW2.
The victim kit; one of Mongrams finest;

There is also a frame of the 'glass' pieces but I left them in the plastic bag to keep them safe.
If I feel brave I may attempt to tint the windows.
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Great Fezza Fred. Are you painting the smoke rings or using decals?

I'll try painting them. It'd take me just as long to draw them up on the computer for printing out then applying them.

That's a very suitable combination of car and colour scheme, I like your thinking!

Definitely the nicest looking Ferraris of recent years (87-92, does that still count as recent?). Should suit the cosen scheme admirably.
I wish, that I knew what was doing!

It does in my book! Anything made after 1979 I consider a 'Recent' car! I obviously spend far too much time messing with old ones.... :roll:

Looking forward to seeing this one progressing.

A little bit done on this; interior and engine done up;

And the body shell sprayed Humbrol 93;

Earlier I discovered that the rear wing/aerofoil is missing, so I'll have to fabricate something. Or just stick two big somethings in those holes at the rear of the bodyshell, ;-)

A couple of discreet and hastily fabricated tail fins would be my suggestion! ;-)
