Looks WWI to me. Aluminium bonnet and RFC roundels, perhaps?

A WWI SE5A scheme is a great choice for this car. Looking good so far.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

SE5A, super choice John! I wasn't a million miles away with my Bristol F2B punt a while back, but Prisca nailed it.
It's looking superb!

Actually an F2B was a candidate, even thought about a Scarff mount for the passenger seat ....

Here we are, waiting on paint to dry again, Hu155 being the culprit .... It's the "standard" PC-10, but I like a better color and so am overpainting with Mr Kit's PC-10 -- it just take Hu155 2 days to dry.
Plenty of time. The remaining parts are more or less ready. I have decals all picked out but they are from Roden and if they disintegrate I'll need a plan B.

Cracker. How'd you do that, er, um, 'stitching' along the bodyside?
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Brilliant work John, this is really coming together nicely. Love your rear-end! (Well, not your rear end exactly, you know what I mean!), the red, white and blue looks super.

Perfect choice for that scheme John, it already looks like a fuselage with wheels.

Re: An Aston Martin Ulster as ???
Here we are, winding down with some detail painting & highlighting on the body.
Next up will be a glossy coat so I can start decaling.
The few bits & pieces I have left are all chrome and I need to decide if that is appropriate for the scheme.
-- gas caps, radiator caps, some little bits up front - that seems OK
-- the wire wheels are OK
-- how about the windscreen ?
-- how about the exhaust ?
-- how about the headlights ?
Any thoughts would be appreciated ....

Re: An Aston Martin Ulster as ???
If it was mine, I'd do the headlights the same colour as the body, the exhaust in a burnt metal colour and leave the other bits chrome/silver.jRatz wrote: The few bits & pieces I have left are all chrome and I need to decide if that is appropriate for the scheme.

It's looking great, love the stitching.
