Sissels Puma in the sky ** DNF **

Post by Sissel »

This will be my build. One that's been sitting in my stash for too many years.
Will decide on version and scheme just before I start.

Will watch this model with interest Sissel, I built this one when it was first released and as I remember it built up very well.

Uh oh, you just set the standards, OT, if you're building this as well!

Good to know it's a good build. Can't remember how long I've had this one, and always dreaded to start it for some odd reason I'm not really sure of.

Nice one. I built the old Airfix Puma back in the '70's but I don't know if this is the same kit.

Cheers, Shaun. It's the same kit, released in 1973.

Here's the obligatory sprue shot. A good chunk of parts in the box.

Yep that looks exactly like my 1973 edition of the kit.

Sissel, can you get started so that I can avoid any pitfalls?

Seriously, any idea what colour the cockpit should be?

I painted the cockpit black and the cabin grey. Here's my build from a while ago:

I managed to buy the last boxing before it got the update with the filters etc so would be keen to see the new bits.

Oi, the pressure! :ha:
Maybe tomorrow or the day after. I'm starting the cars today.

No, I haven't even looked at the instructions yet. They don't say anything?
I trust James is right though, so we'll just copy him. If anything goes wrong we have someone to blame. :ha:

James, that is simply a stunning build! Thanks for showing it.
Loved the bit about drinking wine to use the foil. Good thinking.

I've no idea if my box has the updated parts you're speaking of. Haven't really looked through anything yet.

I found this image of the instrument panel, it may be of some use.

With the cars in the Aero Themed GB out of the way, I can concentrate on this and the Cobra. This one hasn't been started yet (!!), and the Cobra just had a very few bits of interior stuff painted. :-)

I have gotten hold of a British ale that at £4 a bottle better be good! I love when the shop surprised me with something I've not seen or heard of before.
Scarecrow from Wychwood Brewery. With that name it has to be a winner. :-D It will be consumed and hopefully enjoyed along with this Puma.

Lets start the night with a good tune...

I do have a late boxing, who knows how the tooling holds up.

I've made a small start on this. Cleaned flash off a few parts. Dry fitting fuselage shows okay fit, but that is before I've stuck anything inside so I don't have my hopes up. :-D

I'm doing this with closed doors. First thought of skipping interior in the back, but thought I might as well put it in. Then roughly paint it as it wont show. Makes sense, not! :-D
This is how far I got. Not an exciting bit, but shows me starting the kit. ;-)

I know, I know.. You love my colorful tape bits and dots on the bench. :ha:
No worries, it will be cleaned when the Christmas guest moves in!
