Re: Sissels Marine Cobra
Seeing as my exterior painting and masking of the Aero Themed cars went straight to h*ll, I made a quick start on this today.
I've put one seat and half painted the interior. Also some sprue painting of the black parts. Nothing exciting to see, so no pictures yet.

Re: Sissels Marine Cobra
Sat down today and got cracking on with this.
This is how far I got. Good fit so far. Looks like a nice kit. I've also done some sprue painting.
Scarecrow, had to try one seeing it in a supermarket. Good British ale! Well it better be at £4 a bottle.
Accompanied by liquor chocolates.

Like the Snake. And it looks like some added weight under the cockpit.

Yes, I surprised myself with remembering front weight for once.

I am carrying a little too much front weight myself. Probably because I'm too much of a tail sitter
Nice work on the cockpit

Is this the reason for the problems with the masking and painting Sissel? .Prisca wrote: Scarecrow, had to try one seeing it in a supermarket. Good British ale! Well it better be at £4 a bottle.

Good British ale does tend to lead to wobbly masking . BTW, Wychwood brewery make one called Hobgoblin that's very nice indeed. I've been told this by others you understand as I certainly wouldn't allow myself to be under the influence of any
Nice work on the Cobra though. Looking forward to more progress.

Re: Sissels Marine Cobra
Outstanding detail work on the cockpit, looking real good. That HUD is very detailed.

Masking lines becomes surprisingly straight after a few *hick* malts you know...Dazzled wrote:Is this the reason for the problems with the masking and painting Sissel?
Oooh like the sound of that. Shame they don't have it here.Dazzled wrote:BTW, Wychwood brewery make one called Hobgoblin that's very nice indeed.
Cheers, guys. I've got the lower part of fuselage together now. On top it looks good, apart from nose seam.
Underneath it's fine at the back, but a few mm off at the front. The tiny gap line isn't a problem, but one fuselage piece is 1-2mm too high. Filling and sanding!

Coming together quite nicely.
They also do one called King Goblin, but at 6.6% it is not for the faint hearted.Prisca wrote:Oooh like the sound of that. Shame they don't have it here.Dazzled wrote:BTW, Wychwood brewery make one called Hobgoblin that's very nice indeed.

Re: Sissels Marine Cobra
Thanks Jeff and Chip.
6,6%? Lightweight!
I don't mind strong beer at 6-12%, mhmmmm... But need to go to special stores for that here (for any beer over 4,7%), and it's bloody expensive. So I usually enjoy strong beer when on holiday.
I will look for these beers on my next trip to England, might smuggle some back.
I have to attend a stand up comedy show tomorrow with some friends, but do hope to get some done inbetween hike, shopping and show.
Luckily I do have 2-3 days end of December as the Christmas guest leaves on the 28th. So hope to finish both of these, but will not rush to meet the deadline! For once.

Nice work so far! You won't go far wrong with British real ale; well you will if drink too much of it but you get my drift.

Your Cobra looks good Sissel can't wait to see the finished result- and I'm sure you will certainly like the beer.

Re: Sissels Marine Cobra
Cheers guys. I can't wait to start painting it.
Got the fuselage parts together, and a few more parts attached. The fit is really good, as expected from the usual Italeri kits. No complaints so far. Vallejo putty will be applied along the thin gap between upper and lower fuselage, this should blend in nicely. I will put a little putty on, then add water and drag along with my fingertip, no need to sand.
