Very interesting helicopter Alan, I think the only part that remains of the Kolibri is the fuselage frame at the Midland Air Museum near Coventry.

I read somewhere that they ordered 1000 but only built 24 so I'm surprised any have survive.

The amount of flash is high and the detail is soft but due to its small size I think it will look busy enough when built.

The engine Is very basic with rudimentary exhaust pipe, but once it's fitted inside the body very little will be seen.

Looking at the size of the tail I think this will be a tail sitter, so this will be fun trying to add weight to the front.

You could always try installing a fat pilot ;-)

The kit has a fat builder and that's not helping in the slightest :-D :-D :-D

To save the hassle of finding a fat pilot :-D I have added crushed air gun pellets and liquid gravity to the area just in front of the engine, with luck this should stop it becoming a tail sitter.

Who's building it for you? :ha:

I hope those weights will be enough.

And I thought my MiL-2 was little but that thing is tiny! Looking to be a fun build so far Alan, no major issues?

Apart from the flash, no issues at all, if I was to build a second one I think I would replace the plastic undercarriage and cockpit frames with brass rods as they would be more scale like and smoother.

The pilot supplied with the kit is destined for the bin as he is just a blob of plastic, I have a spare Airfix guy who will look the part and a spare metal seat out of a Skybirds MB5 that looks more suitable than the kits version.

Given the weight in there Splash, I think that brass rod undercarriage legs would be a most appropriate modification :) .

I hope to get a good day at the bench tomorrow as my wife is off to London for the day.

I think I will try the plastic u/c first, with brass as plan "B" . (This is not like me at all planning ahead  )

The blades on this little Flettner are a lot longer and thinner than I thought they were going to be. I'm not sure if I should add a pilot to the cockpit to add scale or leave him out.

I don't normally add aircrew but in this case I think it will give scale and show how small it really is, what do you think?

I think using a pilot would work well for scale. Airfix pilots usually roam the spares box!
