No, all I did was to pinch each blade between my thumb (upper) and a pen (lower) and gently pulled each blade in turn down the length of the blade to give a even curve. When the blades were all evenly curved to the degree that I felt looked right I then assembled them to the hub.

The rotors after painting ready to be fitted to the model.

With the rotors in place on the model it is now finished, the only weathering I applied were graphite stains from the exhausts but as they were applied over the black panels on each side they are barely visible and the model looks clean and almost new in grey and white and adorned with the multitude of colourful warning signs standard for the type. So then, here is the Airfix SH-3D Sea King as it was intended when the moulds were new and all the parts fitted perfectly.

Hard to believe that's the same kit I recently made a complete hash of! Great job, David.

You have done a brilliant job and have restored my faith in the old kit.

I always thought the nose and canopy looked wrong but you have proved me wrong.

Congratulations it looks spot on.

Great result David, the Airfix kit polishes up nicely.

The Sea King is one of my favourite helos, must be why I have 5 in the stash :)

Thanks for those words everyone, It was fun building it and I did not expect so much praise. I am getting quite hooked on the Sea King and will build a few more models from the Airfix kit in the new year.

Cheers,
David.

A brilliant build David - it looks super and it's nice to see one in the US scheme.

I don't blame you for getting hooked, the Seaking is a really smart looking aircraft.

What a lovely looking Sea King David. You've done a great job on it. I really impressed with the kit too. It's certainly stood the test of time very well.

A true CBK perhaps?
