I have some Dayglo decal strips that I thought I could cut out to shape and apply. But on reflection that'll be a harder job than the very light grey (almost white) undercoat I've been using and painting on the Dayglo. At least when well Kleared I'll be able to pick off any over-paint with a cocktail stick. But I don't fancy having to scalpel any misshaped decals into place...

Great job and a real interesting twist doing it in RAF scheme.
Never failed way of opening stuck jars of Tamiya paint, rotate the lid in the steam of a boiling kettle, and too boot a brew as well, this method must be treated with a degree of caution as I would not want anyone scalding themselves.

Door frames painted Dayglo. Just a little cocktail stick work to take off some over paint. The close up makes it look worse than it is..

Do you think I should add some gold and silver stars to the paintwork then...? :-D

As bizarre as it sounds there was indeed a short lived Bell 47 display team that did airborne square dancing. They were given wigs, eyes and even dresses! I remember seeing an article and photos in an aviation magazine of the 1970's...

It was a bit of a struggle to get the doors to fit and they are still not perfect, bit it will do. All assembled and painted now. Just the decals to go. I'll be depicting 'Mike' in the photo behind:

Finished!

The hardest part was making the 'CENTRAL FLYING SCHOOL' decals for the bottom of the doors (hardly visible in the photos) printing in 6pt type face and I'm sure they will curl when drying despite lashings of micro set and sol :frown:

With it's Whirlwind stablemate that was at Ternhill at the same time as the Sioux, and me come to that
