Airfix took a lot of the guess work out of it. All you have to do follow the part numbers as they molded each set accordingly. So naturally I cut them all off the sprue at once.

I always do the same thing :ha: :ha: :ha:

I one fitted the blades on an R/C helicopter around the wrong way  it worked but not as planned and had a distinct lack of lift not to mention head vibration.

At least you didn't have mast bumping. :ha:

OK as of this afternoon we have the drooping rotor blades fit in the counter rotating style:

Fuselage together and a fair amount of work to do there:

And a test fit of the assemblies:

So a fair amount of work ahead but please with the progress so far.

And I think the ships were all icebound in the Artic and never made it back. The British Whaling Fleet. :frown:

Off the whaling ships now and back to reality.

As called for in the instructions, weight was added to the radome as there is a lot of tail hanging out there to counter-balance.

Image

This is where I parted company with the instruction for awhile. The instructions direct you to add the landing gear next and there are still a lot of fuselage work to do. So...........the landing gear will not go on as yet until I no longer need to manipulate the fuselage any longer.
The gear is rather spindly and it will break easily.

Image

Overview at this point. Still rather pleased.

Notice the inward cant of the vertical stabilizers.

That must have made it very stable in forward flight.

I often wondered why they also have the sonar body mounted so far back, on a Seaking it was directly under the Rotors and C of G ?

Time to come to terms with that fragile looking landing gear. I have most of the larger bits on no.

As you can see, there is a lot of mold separation and flash to clean up.

Reminds me of "Hopper" from the movie "Bugs Life". "Where's our submarines?"

I seem to remember that the undercarriage is quite robust so you should have no worries.
