Re: Ians stocking surprise!
I managed to complete the model yesterday! But no pics as I had a busy afternoon and evening.
I will take some photos when I get home tonight and post them.

Here you go then, the MPM 1:72 Gloster Meteor T Mk.7
What can I say except a big thank you to my Secret Santa. PE, resin, lots of fiddly stencils - yes, thanks a lot!
But seriously, this is a lovely kit and the extra bits allow you to make this into something really nice. I wanted to do the black/day-glo scheme from the box lid but I would simply not have had the time, even if I'd taken the optional weekend extension. A pity that I had to hack the fuselage apart to get the IPs in. Maybe without the time taken to do that and repair it all I may have had the time I needed. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Or maybe I just need to read the instructions more thoroughly before I start applying glue. I really should have spotted the problem. But I'm very happy with the repair work. I think I got it all sorted out quite smoothly.
Bluesteel, I'd love a spare maple but not at the moment. I'm packing for a home move, so this is going to go straight into a box on Monday where it will probably stay for a few months. Unpacking the planes at the other end is (sadly) quite low on the list of priorities. Also, Mrs. Ian is not sold on the idea of hanging them all from our bedroom ceiling.
At least, not yet.....
Well done, Secret Santa! I'm looking forward to next Christmas already!

Nice finish, and good luck with the house move. Moving somewhere nice, like Yorkshire?

Looks great with the finish! (and I take back what I said about the not finishing a secret santa).
I'm also looking foward to Christmas again too. Who doesn't?

Yes that has turned out very nice, Ian! A great build indeed.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...
