Re: Paul's Prezzies
Nice start Paul.
Watching the 520 build as I have the same kit in the stash.
Think there was a review of the knights on IPMS/USA a couple years ago. Could be wrong though.

Re: Paul's Prezzies
Cheers, Phil. You might well have seen a review; I know I did a review of Zvezda's French footsoldiers from the Hundred Years War. I still have those and am wondering if there's a way to incorporate them into my vignette, as the armour/'uniforms' were basically the same as English footsoldiers.philp wrote:Think there was a review of the knights on IPMS/USA a couple years ago. Re: Paul's Prezzies
Quick start on the 520(s) Paul. I bet those knights will be a tricky paint job.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: Paul's Prezzies
Sure will be, Shaun - the fine detail of the various motifs and designs on surcoats, etc. is all raised detail on the figures.....

Re: Paul's Prezzies
Great progress Paul!
Not a kit you see built often - will follow your build.
I've painted some of the Zvezda 100 years war foot figures - really outstanding moulding - you should enjoy those.

Re: Paul's Prezzies
Good start! The only Dewoitine I've built is the Heller D.510, in the same camo as your boxart.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

Re: Paul's Prezzies
As usual, not a lot of progress during the week. However, I did get started on the Cromwell. I'd already sprayed a primer coat, so, yesterday, I was able to spray a coat of Xtracrylix Light Bronze Green - sorry, no Mike Starmer complex mixes for me, I'm strictly an out of the bottle guy for anything other than aircraft!
I'll spray a lightened version of this onto the centres of the panels to break up the starkness of the single colour. Assembly started last night, nothing too complicated - sorry, no pics, but I'll take some today.

Mis-spoke there - the colour I'm using is British Khaki Drab by Xtracrylix - not Light Bronze Green... It may well be a bit too green, but I'm not going to mess around browning it. Besides, the colour is also going to be used for my Dewoitines, as it's a close enough match for the vert I'll need for that!
(Now I've got French aviation nuts cranky with me and sputtering in their vin, as well as British armour fans... )
More progress; no pics yet. Got a second coat of Khaki Drab on this morning, and painted the tyres in tyre black, then started on hull construction this arvo. Hoping to get the main body of the tank done today.
