Mis-spoke there - the colour I'm using is British Khaki Drab by Xtracrylix - not Light Bronze Green... It may well be a bit too green, but I'm not going to mess around browning it. Besides, the colour is also going to be used for my Dewoitines, as it's a close enough match for the vert I'll need for that! ;-)

(Now I've got French aviation nuts cranky with me and sputtering in their vin, as well as British armour fans... :ha: )

More progress; no pics yet. Got a second coat of Khaki Drab on this morning, and painted the tyres in tyre black, then started on hull construction this arvo. Hoping to get the main body of the tank done today.
Fixed the webpage. There was a Y at the start of the URL. Must be a Yurl... :)

Khaki drab is much closer to SCC2 than light bronze green, so balance to the Force has been restored. :ha:

Phew, I'd hate to stray to the Dark Side.....

Speaking of which, here's a headless horseman:

Really an easy build so far, though I see I've knocked the MG askew.....

Minor progress with the D.520(s) - I sprayed les gris clair undersides

I've seen one or two of the Airfix Cromwells built up on the forum and it looks to be a great little kit. All this SCC stuff makes my brain hurt. I always used to paint all allied tanks olive drab, then apply weathering and hope for the best. Green and brown shades all look very similar to my dodgy eyes anyway :ha:

Away from tracky-tanky things, and back to proper subjects. :ha: Aujourd'hui, I got a coat of dark grey/gris fonce on les Dewoitines.

Image

And I made a start on my chevaliers anglais. I'll be doing a small vignette of 4 figures.

Post-primer and pre-paint:

...and, working on the figure painter's maxim of "inside out", I've made a start.

Image

Painted up the horses, then the armour, then blocked in the basic colours of the surcoats. Detail painting up next.

Cheers, Andrew - I gave them (and my eyes) a rest today. Instead, I gave the Dewoitines a green coat (looks patchier in the photos than in real life):

...and the Cromwell a dark wash and dust dry brushing:

In fact, the Cromwell is almost done. I need to re-paint the gun barrel (errant seam line...), and a little paint touch up here and there, plus aerials and perhaps a little camo netting. There's a couple of decals to add, then a final dullcoat to finish it off.

Cromwell progress - touched up some paintwork, added decals and added some baggage made from two-part putty:

Image

Got the brown on the Dewoitines.

Image

Pulling up the blutak loosened a little of the paintwork on the Hasegawa model. I had washed all my parts before starting, but evidently, the Hasegawa parts were more greasy than I thought.... :frown:

Image

Both need a little touching up anyway, so I'll break out the airbrush again this arvo....

Great work on this eclectic mix from your SS Paul. The blu tack lifting the paint is annoying but it is generally useful stuff for masking camo schemes. As a would be figure painter who hasn't quite got around to it yet, I like your work so far with those challenging looking knights.
