Re: We three carriers of universal are ....
Hopefully you can fix up the track guards, it's damned annoying to miss off parts, I've been there quite a few times These are sharp looking little kits though.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Or you could just leave them off. They look good without them on.

With the Cromwell, with similar track guards, crews often removed them because they were easily damaged and clogged up with mud.

And here we are, just before my 3-day break from the bench ....
Camo touched up .... Not shown is that I masked the desert carrier and started on the 3rd color ....
I have about 5 days upon my return to work on these, so completion of something isn't an issue ... I had hoped I would be further but too many things came along ....

Great looking carriers John. I bet masking that Caunter Scheme was fiddly in this scale as I know these vehicles are small even in 1/35th.

Re: We three carriers of universal are ....
Proceeding.
All the parts are on the carriers. I am fighting with one patch of silver-grey on the Caunter-scheme. All 3 need their tools painted and a bit of touch-up where the last pieces went on. All that will be done sometime later today or tomorrow, I have stuck my fingers in enough wet paint already.
I have finally started crew painting. I have decided the desert crew will be wearing long-sleeves and pants. Again, I should get a bit more done today and certainly tomorrow.
Next challenge is to dive into my decal pile and see what I can do - it'll have to be 76 scale but then again, I'm not spending days looking for 3 accurate sets of markings either so scale may be the least of the problems.
I'm hoping to have at least one day, perhaps more, to do some highlighting, weathering, etc ... I think three nice bases have been OBE by now, but who knows. I'll have no time Thursday or Friday to work on these so need to finish Wednesday.

Looking at the photo, these builds appear to be heading in the right direction

Looking very sharp John.
They look tiny, not sure my eyes are good enough for that sort of thing anymore.

Figures are looking great, John, especially considering the teeny scale...if you don't use them in the carriers, you could use the heads on the sprue as the basis for a military 'laughing clowns' sideshow diorama..!jRatz wrote:Proceeding.

Re: We three carriers of universal are ....
Figgies mostly painted. All seem to have same shade of brown hair, looks like the stock on the Bren .... I need some wash over the flesh and over the uniforms to give them character.
I still haven't gotten into the decal stash - that MUST happen tomorrow !!!

Re: We three carriers of universal are ....
No pix, but I've got my decals out, just a bit of research to finish. Carriers are done/painted, weathered the running gear, got Future on for decals. Figgies got a simple wash, ready to glue into the carriers.
Depends on weather, we are in a huge winter storm, worst in many years - weather we just are not prepared for here. So I'm not sure what tomorrow will bring.
