Started decaling the Tiffie today. Still quite a few more to go. Airfix did an excellent job with these decals. The fit is spot on, especially on all the curved portions. I really like the yellow stripes on the wing leading edge. Saves a lot of masking and painting. Same goes for the invasion stripes.

I couldn't get on with the yellow leading edge stripe decals and ended up masking and painting. I assume there's a technique I hadn't got down...

As the decals are long and thin the way I get them in place is to line the decal up in place on the upper wing surface and leave it just sticking out into the air in stead of trying to get it to curl round and under. With it in this position, apply Klear to keep it in place.
When the Klear is dry, brush some klear on the leading edge of the wing and a sliver on the underside, While this is still wet, starting in the centre of the decal, work your finger left and right and slowly moving forward and round the wing. Keep on with this movement till the decal is right round the leading edge and the Klear has gone off. At this point, brush Klear over the whole decal. Job done.

Great work, Tony!

Finished up the decals tonight. All that's left now is t paint and attach all the sticky out bits and landing gear, along with attaching the canopy.

Made a bit of an error with the roundel on the left side. I had to trim out the corner to allow for the gun bay. Its not located far enough aft on the wing. Nothing that can be done about it now though.

If you hadn't pointed it out, I wouldn't have noticed.

It's looking great Tony and I wouldn't have noticed the decal issue either if you hadn't pointed it out.

Finished the Tiffie tonight. I chose not to go with the rockets right now. I like the clean airframe look. I may put them on sometime in the future. This was a great little kit to build. Airfix has done a good job with new tool aircraft. I see some new Airfix kits in my future. Well anyways, enjoy.
