Box art and sprue shots. One feature I really like about the kit is the option to open up the machine gun bays in the wings. Also, the detail on the parts is quite nice. More than I've seen on most kits. This should be a nice relaxing build.

Nice one! I will pick this one up next time I go to to DMS. Love the addition of rockets.

This is a cracking little kit - I impulse bought one the other week and practically blitzed it. Goes together nicely, detail is fantastic.

You certainly get plenty of parts in the box for a single engined fighter!

Are you going to open up the gun bays?

Cheers

Nice. Seem to be a lot of small fiddly parts!

Thinking about it. Doesn't look like too much extra work for the feature.

Made a start on the Typhoon today.

Painted up the interior. I know they aren't correct colors, but its what I have on hand. Theres quite a bit of detail, but unfortunately, most of it cant be seen due to the small size of the cockpit.

Fuselage is closed up. The fit is quite excellent and no filler is going to be needed on the seams once they're cleaned up.

I decided to open up the gun bays in the wings, seeing as all the parts are supplied in the kit. I've only opened up one wing so far, and you can see it compared to the unmodified wing.

Image

I've just taped the gun and belt detail to the wing to show how it will look. Its gonna need a touch of filler to clean up the join lines.

Image

This looks like the rest of the kit will go together quickly, as long as the rest of the kit fits as well.

A little progress today. Finished cutting out the other wing opening to show the cannons. Also got the lower wing glued into place. This is a nice easy assembling kit so far.

A close up of the cannon detail.

Lovely work Tony!

Have one in the stash, might have to "re-arrange" the ticket draw (see : http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8425&start=27)

Following this build with interest!

Nice details in the gun bay. Interesting engineering for the cockpit and wing too. Very nice! Tempting to indulge myself too. Must resist...

Nice one and great work opening the gun bays. What a revelation this new tool Tiffie is compared to the oldie.

I had no idea it had an optional open gun bay in the wings. Now I want it more....

They've made it quite easy to do seeing as the panel lines are in the right spot, and are an excellent guide for cutting the opening.
