Re: Tony's Christmas Treat
A little progress today. Got some paint on the cannon bays and glued the upper wing halves in place.
The upper half before being glued in place.
The bay still needs some detail paint, but its getting there.
I hope to have it ready for paint by the start of next week.

Nice one, those gun bays do look effective now they're in the wings.

Sweet. to be honest I have never been a fan of the Typhoon but this is tempting me to get one.

Re: Tony's Christmas Treat
Just a little progress. got the tail glued up and masked the canopy parts. Now I just have to make it down to the hobby shop for the right color paints for the camouflage.

The gun bays look excellent! What sort of paint are you going to get?
Cheers

I cross referenced the Humbrol colors over to FS numbers. Most likely, it will be Model Master Acryl paints, depending on if they have what I need.AndrewR wrote:The gun bays look excellent! What sort of paint are you going to get?

Re: Tony's Christmas Treat
I used to brush paint with them, until I switched to Vallejo. The RAF colours in the MM range are good matches to reality, I think and they actually call some of the paints "RAF Dark Green" etc.
The RAF Ocean Grey matches very nicely to MM Dark Grey F-15 by the way, and I think looks about right on a 1/72 scale model.
Cheers

Re: Tony's Christmas Treat
Got some paint on the Typhoon. The Model Master RAF Green has a bit of shine to it. Gonna have to rub it down with some wet/dry sandpaper and see if it blends it in some.

This is coming along very well Tony. Careful with the wet and dry, it has a nasty habit of quickly revealing the underlying bare plastic!
