Here is the grand opening
A Hasegawa P-47d Razorback...
Hello Mary Lou...
Terrific, it will go very nicely with the "Balls Out" bubbletop on the bench at the moment.
Thank you Secret Santa

Re: Andrew's Prezzie
A quick perusal of the contents of the box, reveals that Secret Santa has provided a set of decals from the Aeromaster Debden Jugs set - " Lollapolluza ".
An agonising decision to be made "Mary Lou" or "Lollapolluza"
Cheers

Re: Andrew's Prezzie
Perhaps Santa recognised that Hasegawa decals aren't always necessarily the best, and that another option is always welcome? Smart man, that Santa, I'd say....

Yes, Santa is a very clever man, with a vast knowledge of modelling. It must be his great agePaulBradley wrote:Perhaps Santa recognised that Hasegawa decals aren't always necessarily the best, and that another option is always welcome? Smart man, that Santa, I'd say....
I think I'm going to go with Santa's AM extras in this GB and see if I can find a cheap kit to have a go with the Mary Lou decals later.
Cheers
Andrew

Re: Andrew's Prezzie
All sprues washed and scrubbed.
I've decided to go with the Debden Jug decals, so it will be OD/Neutral Grey with white ETO stripes and cowling.

Re: Andrew's Prezzie
The cowling on the kit needs a couple of the cowling flaps removed on each side.
I have some more delicately moulded bombs and a big belly tank from the Revell kit.
The silvery underwing tanks are now on the "Balls Out" bubbletop Jug.
Cheers

Nice idea to add the chocolate bar for scale.

No wonder the kit keeps getting bigger - it'll be 1/48 scale by the end of the day...

Re: Andrew's Prezzie
I really like the looks of this kit (The box art). I bought a bunch of P-47's and some extra decals earlier this year but have yet to build one. With this and the Bull build i'm getting an itch that I must not scratch.

What's not to like about a Jug? Looking forward to seeing this in progress.

I've primed the interior and wheel wells.
Hopefully, I will get some bench time tomorrow.

Re: Andrew's Prezzie
Another Jug and you look well pleased with that. The addition of the after market decals is very kind and wise thinking by your Secret Santa - Mr Hasegawa sometimes lets us down with his decal quality, as I found out recently!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.
