Good progress with this pair Andrew. This old Airfix Vb kit still holds up quite well I think.

More sanding this morning, followed by grey primer.

The undersides are okay. There's still a bit of smoothing to do on top

One Spitfire ready for canopy and the final coat of primer.

The other one still needs some polishing, but the cockpit is done.

Cheers

The more advanced Spitfire had the canopy mounted. I'll have a couple of small gaps to fill, but nothing serious.

No time to sand the other one down

The prop blades got painted black and the spinners primed.

Cheers

Both Spitfires now have canopies on. One needs a final inspection before painting can begin, the other a coat of primer first.

The props turned out quite nicely.

Are you spraying outdoors ? Is that sunshine in your pix ? Are you still on this continent ?

No I'm in the basement, where I have a corner set up as a spray area, with an extractor fan mounted above it. As I spray only water based acrylics, it's adequate. Plus I wear a mask when spraying.

No sunlight though!

Smoother than Stephen Fry advertising shaving cream. I hope to get masking and dark green on when I get home from the winter break.

Work restarts on this project after getting the Siskin finished.

Masked and sprayed the dark green. In this case I'm using VA US Dark Green.
