Post by shangos70 »

As I'm really just an aviation guy obviously aircraft will make up my list of offerings.
I've tried to pick subjects that are not often seen.
Pre built but never seen in public - All can be seen on the forum.

Matchbox Aeritalia G-91Y
Matchbox Wessex
Matchbox B-17G

Frog Mirage III

To build-
Airfix Vulcan
Airfix Skyvan
Airfix Thunderstreak ( Luftwaffe)
Airfix HH53 Jolly Green Giant
Airfix Dassault Super Mystere ( tiger scheme)
Matchbox Hunter T7.

Some good choices there - the Skyvan in particular is one that isn't seen too often and would look great on the table.

I think I might plump for the Skyvan and Jolly Green , we don't seem to get many Choppers on our displays. I would have liked to have done the Skyvan in Omani markings to go with my Piston Provost but this is a later boxing so it will probably be the Olympic ones.

I'd plump for the Prowler and the Vulcan.

Maybe I'm just odd

Both of these were on my 2014 list to build and so will be done even if they are not chosen for the display.
As for the Vulcan, i've just ordered the wolfpack cast resin intakes so you never know.

Just rechecking the list, i'm nearly done on the Thunderstreak and the Super Mystere is underway. I'm heading off to Greece at the end of the month and so it seems a good idea to dig out the Olympic Skyvan when I return. I recently acquired an Airfix MB 105 chopper to possibly sit alongside the Jolly Green. Little and large.

The Skyvan is a very charismatic little aircraft Shane and the kit was the first time I ever saw the Olympic livery back in the 70's. It would be great to see it built. You may be aware that I am in the process of building the old Airfix 737-200 (a red box re-issue picked up at Huddersfield this year) and will be applying Olympic colours using an F-Dcals aftermarket decal set (also picked up at Hudds!).
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

I've finished the Thunderstreak if needed for the display. Pics are in the aviation thread. I'm at the priming stage on the Super Mystere but have lost and undercarriage door the carpet monster. I will get that finished and make a start on the Skyvan and Jolly Green.

Hi James,
I will have completed -
Thunderstreak, Super Jolly, Skyvan, Super Mystere'. All new builds Pre built I have the Airfix Dornier 215 nightfighter and Matchbox B-17 , Frog Mirage III and Matchbox Mirage IIIBZif needed. I don't think these have been seen in public before. I will be attending both days so will be able to spend some time at the table if required.
