Description cards

Post by JamesPerrin »

As we don't have theme I would like each model to be labelled instead. It would be a great help if you could make your own and bring them with your models. Description cards should be credit card sized when folded in half:

Type
Make, Scale
Builder

You can use your name or your UAMF nickname as that may be more familiar to people. If you want add your avatar as I did last year with the My 1st CBK that's great. They can be hand written as long as they are neat and legible from a couple of feet away.

Cheers!

I've been looking at some show pictures of other displays and I'm thinking the cars should lay flat. They won't obscure the models and less likely to get disturbed or knocked over.

There you go I've reduced our description card carbon footprint by 50%

In our club, we use a piece of plastic shelf edging. 15mm x 15mm or so, a right angle, L , with the open side on the table it forms an A without the cross line, an upside down V. I make my descriptive cards about 5cm long by 3 to 6 cm high. They are not very tall, are angled upwards towards the viewer and make the cards easy to read, no leaning over the models to see what the card says.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

I'm taping little card triangles to the back of mine - little prop-ups.

I've gotten hold of a batch of blank business cards, I'm hoping these are suitable James? They'll be handwritten and I'll bring any spares for others to use on the day if required. I'm going to pinch your card triangles idea too Paul, hope you don't mind ;-)

Flat cards sound good to me. I'll use my bestest handwriting.
