I'll write some words later as I need to go to bed now, but until then thanks to all you came and helped and saw and talked.

See next post for SIG report.

Well I'm still shattered with aching legs after a great weekend. Thankfully it was much more enjoyable than last year's (no suitcase left on train, cancelled or late trains and no cold). This year I could relax and just chat with friends new and old and browse.

We had a good spread of subjects that we manage to arrange into various sub-themes and nicely filled out the table. The display did as well as could be expected without and big "wow look at me" thing going and Ratch's ship placed at the front caught many a persons eye. I haven't totted up but > 70 filers were picked up as well as the smaller "business" cards. I'm not sure if I saw anyone use the QR codes by we may be just ahead of the game on that one.

Thanks to all those who came to say hello (Flute, T-21, GeneralRocket, Nararyan, Maverick, Greggers, Ratch et al, Falcon, Shane and "Still needs to sign up" Craig) and I'm sorry that I missed a number of UAMFers as I was elsewhere at the time. Hi to Chris from IPMS Southampton who joined us for food and beer in the evenings - thanks for the cake Yum! Beany, TomW, ShaunW,ejsnotgrass and of course PaulBradley all did sterling work manning the table. Big thanks to Iain(ejsnotgrass) and ShaunW who did volunteer stints on the Kits Swap, and from the sound of it were worked hard ;-)

BTW In the SIG/Branch Leaders meetings I did nearly passed out when the best SIG display was announced; "Classic British.... Jets"!

Looks great, guys. Very well done --a great selection of subjects to emphasise the diversity of CBKs, and the now-traditional sweets to lure in the punters as well. Gutted not to have been there, and I'll have to figure out how to remedy that for next year...

Brillant!

All the best,
M.

Great pics and write up James, I have to agree with Matt's words on the diversity of kits on display. I thought it looked great without being overwhelming. Another great year, look forward to the next.

Looks very good. I wish my shelves were as full and diverse. Can I have a packet of Skittles please? :)

Great photos and write up James, thank you for taking the time. This is all the more valued for those of us who couldn't make it this year. Lovely models, all of them.

Paul, you remind me of my late cousin in law who used fly Provosts in the Macaws display team

It was great to meet up with James, Paul, Al, Tom and Iain as usual, and I was delighted to me Shaun for the first time even if we didn't have a chance to have a long chin-wag
There was lots of fraternisation between the CBK & AMSIG (we were back-to-back on the block of tables). For me, Saturday was a whirlwind of catching up with old friends. I probably missed a lot of new faces visiting both stands :???: but it was a great show, and a brilliant weekend that passed all too quickly - roll on the next one

Clearly, you read too many horror novels.... :ha:

Arrived back late last night - the flight home was 10 hours, but not too bad. T5 at Heathrow and British Airways are pretty efficient without wowing.

And thank you too, Ratch, nice to see you again. These shows always pass too quickly, but then we wouldn't want to get bored.

Hi Paul,

Glad you got home safely.

Shame you didn't have time to drop into London and see the poppies in the moat of the Tower of London (or maybe you did?), it is realy quite a spectacular and moving display. Plus my office is 2 mins away from the Tower, so I see it every day. 5 million people have visited it to date.
