I'd go with that, James. I think that people calling to the display would be just pleased to see these old models, regardless of theme.
So many models, so little time.

OK, so we have 2 months left until Telford - how are we doing? I have 5, perhaps 6 models I'll be able to bring along (provided I get them finished). I can also update our old CBK SIG tri-fold flier to bring along for folks to take away. I was also wondering if we want a standard template for a description card - logo, model name, modeler name, etc. - to place next to models, and/or something to delineate mini-themes within our 'no-theme' theme. Thoughts?

Painfully... I'm out, I'm sorry to say. For this year at least. Major lifestyle change and relocation for us, plus similar upheaval for parents-in-law who once provided a secure "home base" a few miles from Telford, have conspired to render me and the wee lad "hors combat" in 2014. I'm sure we'll be back in years to come, but two houses to make habitable (for us and our tenants) and a boy to despatch to university have made time and resources rather scarce this summer/autumn. Apologies to those we will miss (especially Paul in this "Blue Moon" year) and we do look forward to a return in years to come...

bestest,
M.

I am really bummed I cannot make it back this year. Had a very good time last year with all the SIGs I supported.

It may end up as a once in a lifetime thing for me. Being laid off from work after almost 30 years with Halloween currently scheduled to be my last. Looking for other positions with them (including the office in Brighton) but may have to just take the severance and find something else. Would be really hard to give my my 40 days off per year but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Hope you all have a great show.

As well as CBKSIG, I have stuff to bring for the AMSIG and Airfix's trade stand, but if you need to fill any holes just ask 8-)
All models are equal. Some models are more equal than others.

I'm currently building for the AMSIG table, Locate and Cement table, and my one man CBK display at Farnborough in a fortnight, then I can start to think about Telford.
I should have the Airfix "A Bit O' Lace " B-17G box art diorama finished it time for both shows - but fingers very crossed for Farnborough though - need to get a right wiggle on!!

Cheers
Al

P.S. gutted to hear you and Jack won't be with us Matt, you'll both be missed mate.

I've just email the membership to remind you all that it's not too late to get involved in this year's display. Though it's great to see many of you willing able to build for the show the non-theme allows you to make use of you modelling back catalogue so to speak.

Bummed that you won't make it Matt - I was looking forward to seeing you and Jack. I guess seeing Al and James will have to make do..... ;-) :ha:

Point taken about already-built models, James - that would be a good fall-back position if I don't complete my planned stuff.

I'm well on track for completing 10+ kits for the display, hotel is booked and holiday sorted from work so it's full speed ahead down here.

Has anyone got a FROG Mossie built up that they could bring? I've got the Airfix and Matchbox Mossie's built and the trifecta of Mossie's would go well with the same of Beaus, which I'm doing.

<Edit: While I'm at it, anyone got an old Airfix JE-J Spitfire Mk IX? I've got the FROG VIII / IX and Matchbox IX. Edit>

regards,

Martin

Hi All,

Well after totting up the number we have 10 contributors with the distinct possibility that Iain (ejsnotgrass) will appear with a few models under his arm  So basically there is going to be plenty of room for you all to bring you list of 10 kits. I've asked you all to update you lists as I believe some of the unbuilt suggestions are still in that state - I know mine are! So look to your shelves for any CBKs that have yet to grace a CBK display.

It would be good to see the breadth and depth of CBK subjects so let's not fill the table with Spitfires please

Not that are built or have survived the years James. I could try and build my Airfix Queen Elizabeth but I'm pretty heavily committed already, let me see but no promises on this one.
