OK as the new boy to this SIG I can offer up a mix of armour/military vehicles, as they seem to be a bit thin on the ground together with aircraft as I have an equal interest in both fields. The military vehicles and tanks are all 1/72 or 1/76th.
Built:
Airfix Opel Blitz lorry and PAK 40 anti-tank gun
Matchbox Comet tank
Matchbox Puma armoured car
Somewhere in the stash is also the Matchbox Jagdpanzer IV tank and I have a mostly built Matchbox Sherman Firefly tank that won't take a lot of finishing.
Aircraft:
I am currently building a heavily re-worked Airfix F-4E Phantom with Microscale replacement decals
In the stash, off the top of my head in 1/72nd scale:
Airfix Cessna O-2 - this is an original Series 1 poly bag release
Airfix Red Arrows Gnat - I have several of these, one of which was blitzed last February and it shows, so that wouldn't be displayed
Airfix Red Arrows Hawk
Airfix F-111E - I have a Modeldecal sheet for this with the 1976 U.S. Bi-centennial scheme
Airfix S-2 Viking
Airfix Skyraider
Airfix AVRO 504K
Airfix RE8
Matchbox F-4 Phantom - oh dear, this is currently my airbrush test bed and would need to be renovated
Matchbox Dominie - this is part started and I'm not sure how good the decals are or even if all the bits are there, I'd have to run a check.
Matchbox JU188
Matchbox Mosquito
Most, if not all, of the above would benefit from aftermarket decals as they are all old boxings, but that shouldn't present too much of a problem.
And my sole 1/48th model eligible for this:
Airfix Me 109F - I have alternate decals for this kit.
I would also consider building something from the classic Airfix "Sky Kings" airliner range if I could find an example at the right price and some replacement decals if needed.

Re: Shaun's List
Nice choice, I just got hold of those F 111 markings myself. I'd like to see the Viking in the flesh, I have one tucked away. I did the MB Phantom in the Blue special scheme a few years ago.

Bring all the armour Shaun. ...You know you want to
Although, if I were to pick from the aircraft I'd like to see the Airfix Viking and F-111 plus the Matchbox Ju188, if only out of curiosity to see if you develop a twitch after masking the transparencies
Great looking aeroplane but an awful lot of framing.

Re: Shaun's List
Cheers boys. I thought someone might like the Ju-188 Darryl but aside from the canopy frames there is that 'orrible join line down the centre of the gun turret, which is why I haven't built the thing yet. I'd have to either put up with it as is or perhaps try to scratch up a replacement if possible. Both the Viking and F-111 are decent enough classic kits and I have some nice replacement decals for the F-111. Generally I am not a fan of '70's decals but I think there are replacements around for the Viking.
Bringing on armour is never a problem as I'm a big fan. I'm still twitching about building a Sky Kings airliner as they were quite prominent in the '70's Airfix line up. The little 737-200 would look the part with some nice decals.

Re: Shaun's List
Yes I'll sort it for you James, I have some models that will be suitable and I'll post them up. Sorry but I'm up to the eyes in work at the moment and commitments mean I am probably only going to be available for the Saturday at Telford, will this cause a problem re the display?

Is there anyone you can entrust with returning them on the Sunday?ShaunW wrote:Yes I'll sort it for you James, I have some models that will be suitable and I'll post them up. Re: Shaun's List
Not that I can think of. Let me see what I can do to rearrange things to attend for the full day on Sunday, I'm sorry for fannying about but I will only be able to do one day (I am willing to help out on the stand and as an IPMS member help with whatever they may ask as I know they sometimes do with SIG attendees) I'll send you a PM. As far as models are concerned I was thinking of AFVs/military vehicles as opposed to aircraft as I think you will have a number of those. Currently I have the following if they are of interest:JamesPerrin wrote:Is there anyone you can entrust with returning them on the Sunday?ShaunW wrote:Yes I'll sort it for you James, I have some models that will be suitable and I'll post them up. Airfix Opel Blitz and PAK 40
Matchbox Puma armoured car
Matchbox Comet tank
Matchbox Sherman Firefly
and, if I can find it in the stash and knock it together, a Matchbox Jagdpanzer IV L/70.

Re: Shaun's List
I've struggled a bit this year for one reason or another and my output has been quite poor.
Here are the models that I'm taking tomorrow, a small collection of military vehicles all of which have been built on here. Not as many models as I originally planned to take, but there you go.
At the front is the Airfix Opel Blitz and PAK 40 and clockwise, Matchbox Comet, Matchbox Puma and Matchbox Sherman Firefly, the latter being finished only last night.
It's going to be an early start in the morning as Telford is a fair distance from here - at least Mrs W is quite keen on the town shopping centre etc, which keeps her happy for most of the day
