Blitzbau XIV Sign-up and Chat

Post by JohnRatzenberger »

Here's the usual rules -- your GB Leader, Jssel, will fill in any blanks.

Any time from Friday 1 February through Sunday 2 March.

Any subject, any scale, any kit -- unstarted, no exceptions.

Built in a 24-hour period (not 24 building hours). The only alternative, AKA the "wuss" or "senior-citizen" option, is to break the build into TWO approximately equal sessions on consecutive days and the gap between sessions shouldn't be much more than 12 hours.

Photos to be taken with a visible clock, at reasonable intervals throughout the build to document progress -- one hour is typical but may be a bit much -- but do remember the more frequent the posting, the better the interaction and that's what a Blitzbau is all about.

A gallery photo should be posted of the "state of play" at the end of 24 hours, which should also be posted WITHIN 24 hours of "finishing".

Extra non-credit is given for uniqueness of the clock, the on-plate presentation of the meals to be consumed, spousal interruptions (eruptions?), and other things like great music videos etc. All the while remembering this is a family friendly forum ...

Who will be the most un-prepared, missing even the simplest of modeling tool or supply, this time ? How far into the build will they be before the light comes on ? Who will set the record for most models completed ? Will they ever model again ? Don't miss a single thrilling minute !!!

As always, Have Fun !!!

I've heard the snap together kits are ok. But the kits can not be as bad as the movie. (Shudders)

I have a great subject in mind that will be a really quick build. It's not a snap-tite kit either.

OK guys I am on board and available.

I have all the diecast planes from the Planes movie. And while no Nemo. The movie was OK.

Now John summed up the rules. Music inspiration allowed. I am lenient but keep it clean as we are a family site.

Shake hands and come out building.

Bad news from Chez Ian.
We're moving house in March. In preparation for this move we have started packing the non-essentials. Sadly, my stash has been classed as non-essential and is all in boxes in the back of the conservatory. Even more sadly, they are behind a lot of other boxes.
Because of this I am going to have to sit this one out and just cheer you all on from the sidelines.

I'm in for this one, I only have two subjects this time but I will try to make it interesting.
My first will be the old tool Airfix Spitfire 1a in BoB markings and the second will be the Frog Supermarine S.6b in the 'Trailblazers' box.

I broke all my own rules last one with the Ta152C so maybe something bare metal this time.

Sorry to hear Ian and will miss your participation. I thought I felt a tremor in the force. Like millions of models were packed into boxes.

My Mate Andrew ( Gump) is coming up to visit for four or five days. We are planning to run a 'Blitzbau House' type scenario and both complete a build. He was a modeller in his younger days, and has done a few over the years. Looking like he will do a p47, dunno what I will do, I may branch out from my usual Matchbox Blitz-fare.

I have big plans and hopes for this Blitzbau. How/when/if they will come unto the bench is another thing...
