Hi Jeff, I primed the model in the same colour I have painted the underside with- Revell Aqua 76 Light Grey, thinned and applied by brush.
The model has now had one thinned brushed coat of Revell Aqua 76 as a primer, a second thinned coat underneath for the medium Sea Grey and two coats of thinned Humbrol acrylic 106 Ocean Grey on top, I am now waiting for this to dry before applying the Dark Green disruptive, again by brush.

The Dark green is now on, the next step will be to apply the gloss varnish for the decals, as that is drying I will have a brew.

Great paintwork David, this is really coming together now, should be up for a successful finish by the looks.

Thanks Tim, Jeff, Alan, Shaun.
The decals are now on and have been varnished over, I'm waiting for that to dry for the next picture.

Great job on a really nice looking kit! Another one I want to get. I've always loved the Tempest - such a mean, powerful looking aircraft. Basically a Typhoon gone bad!

Thats looking very nice David. What varnish are you using? I have Airfix matt cote and it takes at least a few days for it to dry enough for me to handle a model without it getting sticky!

Hi Graham, I always use either Humbrol acrylic (gloss 35 & matt 49) or Revell Aqua (gloss 01 & matt 02) clear varnishes.
