Nice, I like Academy kits and I like the Tempest V. Doesn't look quite as simple as the Airfix Spit though. This would probably take me 10 weeks

Guess I haven't heard anything negative about the kit. Wishing the best.

Great choice. I've always somehow confused this with the hawker typhoon.

Good to see this one up and running David, I'll try and pop in during the day but have onerous tasks such as replacing a headlamp bulb in the car (not as easy as it sounds unfortunately) and replacing some fencing that has fallen foul of the incessant wind that we seem to have been experiencing this winter.

I never used to like the Typhoon or Tempest, but much more attracted these days, for some unknown reason, to aircraft with bulky lines, somehow seem to have more character.

Re: Lancfan's Hawker Tempest * Saturday 22, 10.30 AM Start*
sorry Sissel, all is explained below.
I am sorry for the apparent stillness here everyone but keeping the clock in the picture does dictate how the build is illustrated, and this kit has a very good interior made up of small parts. I have finished pre-painting the cockpit, propeller and undercarriage parts, the propeller has been assembled as has the cockpit base, I am now waiting for the acrylic matt varnish (permenently fixing the Tamiya Tape harness in place) to dry and then the next picture can be posted. Things should get a little more interesting from then onwards.
David.

Just thought I'd pop by before getting the spanners out on the car. I can imagine this will be a nice kit of this aircraft, which I've always preferred over the Typhoon. I think it was reading "The Big Show" by Pierre Closterman many years ago that did it.
