Sissel cruises a double + a Kikka ** Resigned **

Post by Sissel »

Don't let the title fool you.

These two small beauties were dug out.
Assembly should be quick. There will be lots of different paint on these and that will take time, fiddly painting small areas. But should hopefully make a quick and fun two builds. :)

Look forward to seeing these underway when I get to work Saturday night.
I see Norway just lost, as did GB. We play tomorrow for the 4th spot in the semi-finals.

Oh wow, not one ship but two. Ships are quite a rarity in blitzes, I remember Mighty Mike D (what happened to him I wonder?) blitzing one last Feb. Good stuff, I will try to get my priorities right this time so I can watch

It will be a very tight and exciting match. If we win, we'll probably get hammered by the Swedes in the semis. They seem to be in darn good shape, me no like.

He blitzed Suffolk. I could never do that and get a decent looking model in 24 hours. If I tried it'd be a mess of paint and glue and look like a wreck.

There's lots of tiny decals on these ships, really tiny. Hope they go on well, if not it will look naked.

Yes, with a warship and all the multitude of tiny parts that usually come with them, I think a ship wreck is the best that I could manage in 24 hours

Hopefully this pair will be easier and you will get a result that you are happy with.

These two will be interesting. Is it the same kit with different ship names?

The ships are almost identical. Small differences.
And Midnatsol was partly financed by the army and can be used as a hospital ship. Therefore she has helicopter deck/landing.

The kits I've not studied yet. Probably the same with minor differences.

To 'save' time but to completely stress up myself and my mind, I'll throw in the Kikka here.
Will probably be a 12 + 12 split as I have a forest hike to a lake and cabin Monday morning and wont be home till afternoon.

12+12 sounds like a good idea with a double build, I look forward to seeing how you get on.

Cheers Shaun and Alan.
I've got a little headache, but nothing serious so will begin the butcher in one-two hours.
Only got about 4-5 hours of sleep last night, up early to watch the 50km cross country, no medals for us, the Russians took three first places with our Sundby on 4th losing just before finish line. But my mood is good!

I looked at the three kits yesterday, and one ship is missing the decal sheet.
The Kikka has a second set of fuselage halves, seat and other bits. I don't know why yet, haven't studied the kit much. From what I understand the kit doesn't get good reviews. I wont bother doing ref search for a whiff.
So I'll just take it easy building these three, trying to have fun.

Three kits in one blitz! That's ambition! How many have you made so far during this group-build? You probably now hold the UAMF Blitz record!

This will be a real blitz challenge but I'm sure that you're up to it. I on the other hand would not dare to attempt three kits in one session - I can just picture the panic stricken nightmare!

I think the current record holder is Mighty Mike D who blitzed around 15 kits (maybe more, I haven't looked at the archived session) last February. MMD hasn't logged on for close onto a year now however. Sissel looks to be our current blitz champ in the XIV session.
