So, after some time spent rescuing my best jeans from disaster, this is where I am now:

Note to self: Do not wear your best jeans when doing a Blitz. :frown:

Everything fixed except the aerial now - that will be the last thing on after the decals, which I'm doing now. The camera is pretty unforgiving on my canopy paintwork - it does genuinely look better 'in the flesh!' Honest! I won't be fixing the canopy inserts - the fit is appalling & the model looks better without them!

That looks excellent Jaime, great work! I only wear scruffs for modelling, Mrs W would have my guts for garters if I got paint on anything decent!

That looks great. I'm pleased to hear that your jeans survived the spillage.

Not in 24 hours I'm afraid but after taking the Wuss Option of an 8 hour session yesterday and a 7 hour session today, with less than 12 hours between, I think this qualifies as a completed Blitz.... doesn't it!?

Image

If it wasn't for blood, bad timing and paint spillage I think I might have done it in the 24 hour period, even with a proper(ish) nights sleep.

Now I must attend to other duties, as this little fella has been sadly neglected over the last two Blitz weekends!

As you can see, Milo is pressuring me and is wearing his "You really must take me for a walk now" look, so I must do that before posting some proper pics, which I will do later. In the meantime, here are a couple:

That is a nice build have no issue with being a completed blitzbau. Way to go.

I have to say, I really enjoyed building this kit. There were a few issues with fit and the quality of the canopy is quite poor but even for a Blitz it builds up to a really nice model that I'm happy to put on the shelf with my small but growing collection and whilst the kit dates from 1965, the decals from this 2011 reissue are great. With a bit of extra time for filling and sanding this kit could be even better and I now really fancy building it again to do the other variant in the box.

Anyway, here are the glamour shots, representing a Val from Carrier Division 1 of the carrier Kaga that took part in the attack on Pearl Harbour on 7th December 1941:

Looks really nice, and curved decals on the wheel covers! Got to get me some of those Airfix stands.
