BW pushes in a Stuka *finished*

Post by BlohmWolf »

Probably the only blitz I have had time for this whole month. Life had kept me busy doing other things, but this weekend, I'm hoping to finish off 3 WHOLE projects. That's right. Maybe 4, if you include the Sr-71.

But meanwhile, I was searching in a box and found some aircraft kits, but they were not what I was expecting. So on with a test subject:

Here is the box art + sprue:

It's a little sun-bleached, but it's still in good shape (not)

Lets start now.

First bit of progress:

I got the gears off and ready, they are very well moulded and in good shape..
Image

But they appear to be a little 'thin' in my sample.

Image

Next was the fuselage, which had the tail, engine and canopy all moulded in with perfect shape and size! How lovely.

Image

But it suffers the same problem, the body is too 'thin'.

Image

The panel lines and rivets are a little deep though, some filler may be needed.

Image

Then came the wing to fuselage join, which was not that great.

Image

But with a sharp knife making tiny cuts, it slid in fine.

NOW FOR THE TAIL!

Here we go..

Image

Huh?

Image

Come on get in there.

Image

GET IN THERE ALREADY

Ok it's in now.

Then we move on to attaching the landing gear, which went in fine and looked quite good.
Image

I think the prop is hands down, the greatest part of this kit, flawless moulding, genius attachment and looks just like the real thing:

I'll finish up soon.

*FINISHED!*

Well, that actually quite fun, for 3 dollars when new, it was a good experience. And it actually flies pretty good too.

Love the rivit detail, really. And you answered my question about whether she flys. Great fun.

Any toy department, hobby shop or dollar store should sell some. They're great fun to fly afterwards, so far out of all of them I've tried, the stuka seems to be the best, especially if thrown straight up, then it swoops straight down before levelling out. Great stuff.

Not only have they tried to replicate a plastic model with the rivets and panel lines, but they also managed to get one of the PG decals out of register!!!
