Well, there are quite a few different schemes that it could be painted and marked up as - think of it as a mini-GB-within-a-GB!Brickie wrote:...the new Airfix Bf110, but there are so many of those being built already that I can't overly see there being interest in it.

Alternatively, I do have the venerable Airfix Pe-2 knocking around. I always think of it as a bomber rather than a fighter but it was a bit of everything, like our Mossie or the Ju-88.

Don't worry about to many 110's going on at once. There are a bazillion schemes and we each have different ways to building the kit. Could be fun.

Question about the Bristol Beaufighter.
What's the difference between the Mk10 and the Mk21?
The reason I ask is that the colours for the Mk21 tend to be, how can I say DULL
The Mk10 had a much better choice of colours, so is it easy to convert a Mk21 to a Mk10?

OK, I haven't looked at the link, but I think that the only major outline discrepancy would be the bulge for the Sperry autopilot in front of the pilot's cabin of the '21. Also, the TF.X had, I think, pneumatically driven 'dive flaps' that required a 'sticky-out' thing (Venturi tube?) underneath both wings outboard of the engine nacelles.
Details of observer's glazing and armament would of course also need checking.

Martin

My vote would be for you to do the Pe-2. I tried to make one of those a couple of years ago and made a dreadful hash of it. It would be nice to see one finished.
And we'd also have a Russian twin in the GB!

Re: Sign-up and Chat
Guys, there was a mistake in the GB name, this is for twin PROP fighters, not twin engine so jets are not eligible. I saw a few in the previous completed builds, beautiful builds but not eligible for this GB.
AS its super sunday here my Lightning has to wait till Tuesday for a start (Dr day tomorrow).

Thanks for finally clearing that up. I was going to say it myself, but I'm glad you've done it.

Guys, I screwed this up - I wasn't paying close enough attention when I put this batch of GBs up - I apologize.
I fixed the forum title, so hopefully there is no more confusion.

Well I'm late to the start and I'll be out of town all next week but I'm going to give it a go. I'll set up a thread for my build.
