Re: Jeff's "Eisenseiten"
Nice choice Jeff. I hope our new-tool Airfix Me-110s go well. And we can compare the finishes later (not competition wise, just normal model chat).
I kind of wish now, that I purchased an Extra decal sheet to go with it too. Then I would have a lot more variety then just the box decals.

Re: Jeff's "Eisenseiten"
I quite like there's three of you building this kit. Meaning I'll learn of any mistakes or fit problems before hacking on mine.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...
Re: Jeff's "Eisenseiten"
I am sure I will have many so you are welcome to take your pick.

Re: Jeff's "Eisenseiten"
Ok here we go.
Have we seen enough box art. Yes we have.
The innards:
This group build will start at todays gathering of my Local Band of Pirates. At is get together it is pure social. We eat, drink and be merry but also build for a five hour block of time. We each have traveling tool kits for this purpose.
The first hour was setting up my build. Not much effort was needed so I plowed in with Tamiya RLM Grey. to begin the interior stuff.
The interior goes together well and a hairy stick was used.
The nose guns were tricky to get in place with all four barrels hitting the right holes.
And I thought that I had made an error in aligning the cockpit due to the gap in the forward, top, fuselage but notice the nose cone fit perfectly
So next comes the overall airframe construction. A real dream.
And so at the start of the fifth hour we are here.
Funny feeling of a blitzbau here. A real nice kit to build.

Re: Jeff's "Eisenseiten"
Nice going, but why didn't you insert the rear-machine gun? Or are you leaving that out till the last bit?

Re: Jeff's "Eisenseiten"
The canopy is not fixed yet. I would only break the gun off at this point.

Great start, you're almost done!
I think several participants in here are in the wrong GB.
This kits looks to be a dream, I might have to start my 110 earlier than planned.

It is! Mostly...
But the cockpit needs a fair bit of sanding on the sides in order to fit right. Tail fit, undercarriage fiddly bits, and canopy are some tricky things. Also, the mounting of the nose machine-guns. But don't let them put you off. There is nothing trimming and filling can't fix!

Re: Jeff's "Eisenseiten"
The only real issue I have had was placing the gun pice in the nose cone. I am all thumbs even with twizzers and it took a bit of time to get the part seated correctly. Not a kit fault but mine. And over all everything fits nicely buit yes, Airfix has some very tight fitting parts but a simple swipe if wet/dry takes care of the issue.
Landing gear next and there are a lot of parts to each one.

Re: Jeff's "Eisenseiten"
Still going here. Interrupted by a Blitzbau. So I am adding the main landing gear now which I normally do after painting. This is to facilitate masking. But we will see how it goes. Like Chris stated there are a lot of parts to each main gear. But it sure looks nice.
Pictures posted later I hope.

Re: Jeff's "Eisenseiten"
You are having fun building this Jeff, I can tell. It is a joy to build although not perfect you certainly do get a decent Bf110 out of it when you have finished....looking foreward to more pics.
