The new Airfix Bf110C for me too.

I built the Matchbox kit a while ago:

It will be good to compare the two kits.If I have time thet may end up in a diorama together. 8-)

So that's three of us OT. It will be good to watch eachother's builds, and compare how each one went in building, painting and decals.

It will indeed. I am looking for plenty of tips & advice from you guys.

I have had a quick look at the kit & it does seem nice although the canopy is dissapointingly thick. A bugger to mask too.

At least most of the canopy frames are square. I have the ExtraDecal sheet for BoB foes. The 110 I am doing has a white chevron on each side of the nose. White on white.....that should be interesting. The dcal sheet states the nose color is weathered so the chevron should show up.

The is one over on BM in that scheme and like the builder, I cannot find a picture of it.

Looking forward to your "take" on this build also.

A flying destroyer.
Looking forward to what you'll do with it.

It's a nice kit OT, I built this a couple of years ago and the only thing I did to mine was to fill the panel lines in with putty as they were far to deep for my liking, but that was my preference and I have since seen a few very nice builds with the panel lines untouched.
Good luck with your build.

Thought I should get cracking on this seeing as Toby is nearly finished!

I will start with the cockpit which is dissapointingly sparse for a new tool.

Image

I am not sure how much will be visable as the canopy is pretty chunky too.
So I added all the interior gubbings minus the seats & gave it a squirt of RLM 66. I may add some sidewall details & wiring, not sure yet. :???:

Locating the cockpit tub is tricky as Toby pointed out in his build. The instructions are not at all clear but eventually I got there as you can only close up the fuselage with the tub in one position. Apart from that the fit is excellent. I attached the bottom wing without glue as it is spot on:

Image

The right wing is bent on my example:

This should be sorted once the upper wing is attached. This is as far as I got so far but has taken less than an hour.

Soory dood, getting my members a bit mixed up (that sounds wrong! :???:). Toby is doing the whirlwind I believe.

Anyway, back to the build. I got a little more done last night:

Image

Just need to fit the IP & seats then I can mask & fit the canopy.

I must say its all going rather well so far. There you go, I have said it now.

That is going very well OT. There, you can blame me for saying it now if it all goes belly up :ha:

That's coming together quickly (and nicely too). A bit different from the High Planes Mirage, eh?

Other end of the scale mate, lovely fit everywhere except the tail. Almost completely lacking in interior detal though which is odd considering the long green house style glazing on a Bf 110. I had expected better from an Airfix new tool.

I have not made any progress this week as I am full of flu. Will try to do something this weekend.
