Thanks to James Perrin. :-D
Sometimes the talent consists exactly in that: try five dozen times when others stop at three dozen...! (F.Labelle)
I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......

Giulio,

Great stuff! I think that simple mod will make a world of difference to the finished article.

Slow.
These days, I'm more slow than legendary Bradipus...
Maybe don't finish the model by the end of February, but it promises to be a wonderful model.

looks good. Little touches like those exhaust shrouds being drilled out can make a big improvement to the overall effect.

A Small advance.
I want to apologize to all the participants of the GB, but I have very little free time these days.

Salt weathering, my technique:
With the help of a brush, wet with water the areas of the model to scrape.
Image

When the water has dried, I begin to paint.
Unfortunately, only airbrush or spray can, works with "my way of salt weathering".

Happy modelling to all.

That's an interesting technique. Who said salt's bad for you? ;-)

Giulio,

I'm looking forward to seeing how that looks once the salt is removed.

It seems that it works.
I removed the salt with a flat brush, and then I washed the model with water.
No fear for the "halos" on the paint: a coat of wax and disappear almost completely.

Image

A little note: when I'm talking about "wax", i'm not talking of "Future",
In Italy it is impossible to buy Future, Klear or Pledge, so I use a common floor wax, for wooden floors and linoleum, I find it in every store.
It may be that my common floor wax, functions in a different way than Future&Co.
So, if my "common" wax, works well with the paint halos, maybe Future don't work as well.

Hope you understand my terrible english, be patient. :)

Regards.

Are you sure Klear/Future isn't sold under a different name?
The floor wax you are using is probably just as good.

Model coming along great. :)

I've noticed that Kruaxi also makes reference to using wax in his builds. Is this an Italian School of glossing models?

I'm sure, is not the same "wax", :)

"Italian School"?
In Italy we use to say "Arte di Arrangiarsi" , "do with what you've got".

I was able to take a shoot with natural light very early this morning:

Tomorrow you will see how it appears after a coat of wax.
