I have been thinking about your canopy issue and this is what I did on the Hasegawa build. The side windows roll down like a car window so by cutting the panels to jsut show the upper frame, they can be attached eliminating gaps to the sides. With the top piece swung back in the open position that eliminates any issues there. Just a thought.
Hope you feel better soonest.

The replacement canopies are here
Very sharp and unused blades are needed to cut them to fit
Once cut out, they are test fitted. Happily squadron gives you 2 of them, I messed up the first
Once the fit is right, the canopy is masked and painted
The canopy is then white glued to the plane, and left to dry for a day or so
Almost done, just some no step decals on the canopy and the wing light and this guy is done.

Get well soon.
At this point if I take excellent care of myself I will get very sick and die.
Thanks David. I half expected it, I had a memory from years ago about the lightning canopy, should have bought the vacs right away insteasd of wasting my time with the crummy kit supplied one.dwomby wrote:Shame about the canopy but at least there's a vacform. Get well soon.

Open would have been easy with the Monogram one, but I like the way the closed up P-38 looks!jssel wrote:I have been thinking about your canopy issue and this is what I did on the Hasegawa build. A nice result Chris, guess I better remember to grab a vac canopy before I build mine then.
