Its a kit of few parts but certainly shows its vintage. I know I will have two bad seams to sort on the upper/lower fuselage. Fortunately the all black scheme should make it easier to hide.

Going great guns!

The kit looks much better than I remember it. I'm particularly taken by the cooling fans at the front of the BMW801s (something missing from the Italeri '188). The nacelles look nicely shaped too.

Well I've got the fuselage joined up, poor seems top and bottom resulting in the loss of the rivet detail. I'm hoping the all over black scheme will disguise this. I've run some Mr surfacer around the nacelles and will buff them up tomorrow. The canopy will be a nightmare, I can barely see any frame lines. Research needed here.

Few update pics, the fit isn't the best. Not much will be seen throught the canopy but i've added a generic instrument panel to tart it up.

The crew look good.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Great progress. Really liking this build.

Crikey those pilots look ace!
Is it the moulding or have you actually outlined the rim of goggles on one??

It's all coming along great.

Great work Shane. The crew look the dog's danglies too. The extra faint canopy frame lines will be a PITA to paint and you may well have to mask them up using finely cut masking tape. Not a lorra laughs.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think these crewmen are the best I've done. magnifying lamp and no coffee shakes. They were very well moulded, I painted the goggles silver first then added a drop of black to the centres.

Shaun, I think you could be right, I will dip it first to see if they become easier to see.

The main airframe is together and has had its coat of black applied. I've dipped the canopies and now need to mark out the framelines. I need to start painting the details like exhaust and engine fans. Touch wood it should be done for the weekend.

This was great choice and I look forward to seeing it in the black scheme.

Well . I didn't meet the deadline. Here's where its up to. Canopies to mask and decaling to do, maybe some exhaust staining.
