Finally finished off the antenna at 3am. How about that for devotion to a cause.
The decals represent a Curtiss SOC-3 Seagull from the USS West Virginia of US Navy group VO-4( I hope that's the correct terminology)
Paint is Vallejo model air aluminium and gold yellow.
EZ-line was used for the rigging.
I like my aircraft like my women.......dirty ;-)

PS. It's the first time I've used a light tent so any criticisms welcome about the quality of the pictures.

Nice finish Toby, it certainly looks like a well used Seagull.

Interesting, I would have thought it would have floats, as West Virginia was a battleship ....

Regardless, that looks very good. Your success with the finish gives me additional "push" to get serious about converting to Vallejo .... And I think your light tent works well also - I must get one of those.

It's certainly a conundrum re the floats. If you look on the first page of this thread you'll see exactly the same as I've built but in the instructions it has floats. I'll put it down to just coming off the production line and having gone through some stormy weather during its pre assignment test trials it's about to be converted to floats. :)

A pretty hefty old fuselage you
have there Toby! It does'nt look
as though it will be breaking
anytime soon! Very nice job
you've done on it by the way.

You've gotten much farther than I ever did with this kit. Looking really good.
Really nothing pithy to say.

Looks like you've done a really great job, Toby! Despite your problems with your bracing.

And as for the photos, I think they're great too. I keep thinking about getting something similar myself :)

Excellent work!
