I present the finished Kawasaki KI-28 "Bob" in markings representative of an operational aircraft in China around 1937.
On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

Nice. Very minimalist markings
Enjoyment over accuracy. That's my motto

Hmmm, I was hoping for the camo finish, nevertheless, you've done a really nice job on this & that plain scheme probably shows off its lines to greater effect, I just happen to be a bit of a camo junky. Seeing that makes me even keener to track one down one day.

and I was hoping for the natural metal finish of the actual prototype.
Nice model. Makes me want to pick one up.

Really nothing pithy to say.

I was tempted to do a camo scheme but I felt that would have been for an aircraft after the group build timeline (Post 1939). The light grey scheme was closer to the 1937 period I was going for. I can always begin work on my Mitsubishi Ki-30. hmmmmmmmmmm

Thanks. I already had two NMF aircraft in the build and didn't want to be stuck in a rut. :Pjohnsan wrote:and I was hoping for the natural metal finish of the actual prototype.

Yeah, but that's a nice rut to be in.

Just have fun doing it. And now for something totally different, a pair of Queen Elizabeth class battleships in 1/700th. I now have a urge to add to my fleet.johnsan wrote:Yeah, but that's a nice rut to be in.

I think the camo schemes as shown on the box art date from the IJAAFs time in China pre WW2, think Nomohan incident or perhaps slightly later as most Ki-27s of that tme are depicted in a similar finish to what you have done this one in. I'll have to swot up on this to get my dates right but being a prototype, I'm guessing the camo was a whiff scheme anyway.Chuck Finley wrote: I was tempted to do a camo scheme but I felt that would have been for an aircraft after the group build timeline (Post 1939).
