Here's the picture as of this morning.

I'm fitting canopy parts, making the antenna that seems to have broken off, getting the wheels ready to mount, etc.

I'll paint canopy frames, let them dry, then put a matt coat on ....

Thanks, Martin ...

Matt coat is on, canopy on and painted; I think I have wheels to do, yellow tips, pitot to paint, something or three to touch up and we're done.

Oh yes, I forgot. There are two view windows on the underside. Revell doesn't give you glass, just some indentations - I need to fake these somehow ....

Under the wire, mad finish, canopy ripped off when I forgot the pilot figure, then put back on rather crudely.
Under fuselage view ports faked.
Done.

I'll paint the stand later, and probably try to do a better job fixing the canopy.

Still, looks like a Wildcat/Martlett ....

And, BTW, my GB title was a cheer for the Kansas State Wildcats, although it didn't help them when the ran into Kentucky in the NCAAs ....

Nice job John, for an old kit that has come up really well, a tribute to some good modelling I'd say. :)

Thanks, guys.

Strange discrepancies between the instructions and the plastic, but nothing fatal. It looks the part, maybe the canopy a bit big, or maybe it's the problem I had. I am going to take it off and try again.

And like the Hurricane, I did it all in Vallejo, and am starting to get comfortable.

I've always liked the Wildcat, and this looks like one, IMO.
