Quite a few problems with the fit of this one. On assembling the wing there is a gap around the top of the air ducts:

Image

These were filled with PVA glue to alleviate the problem of sanding back any filler.

Fitting the wings to the fuselage revealed a huge gap in the starboard wing root:

And a smaller one in the port wing root:

These have now been filled with various thicknesses of plastic card, and smoothed over with a bit of filler.

Cheers Martin. Progress has been coming along quite nicely, with the painting completed:

Image

I have made a move from my usual Acrylic Revell paint to use Humbrol White and Humbrol 96 RAF Blue Matt. First time using these and I am quite impressed with how well they airbrush on (once I figured out how to get into the pot ).

The top colour is Vallejo Model Air Insignia Blue.

Cracking finish there, Chip.

The bombs look good too. I'm looking forward to seeing the decals on.

Nice paintwork. What did you use to thin the paint?

I just use water, it has always worked OK for me.

And she is finished:

A very clean, factory fresh finish at the moment, I may give it a bit of weathering later, but I am happy with the way it is for now.

Another nice build! Thus far you have been responsible for me buying an Airfix Hellcat and another Airfix Corsair as well as associated decals and AM stuff to tart them up a bit!
