Looking good! Mine arrived on Friday, but I'm debating whether to add it to the D-Day Group Build or whack it in here??

These older kits are renowned for bad fit wings etc. But you've done a nice job.

After a very nice Easter Break I have managed to get a coat of primer on, followed by numerous coats of white for the invasion stripes. Once dry and after careful masking the bottom got a coat of light Grey.

Yes Boss.... :ha:

I have also had chance to get the top colour on:

There are a couple of areas that need touching up on the white where paint has bled through, and some painted lifted off the bottom and needs repairing:

Oh, and I knocked off a tailplane and the aerial  Easy enough to repair though.

After carrying out the various repairs I finally found time to paint the black stripes on.

Unfortunately I managed to knock off the other tailplane.

Tonight I have fitted the wheels, prop and tailplane, and also got the decals on followed by a coat of klear:

I hope to get a coat of matt varnish on to finisher her off tomorrow.

Chip,

That's a really nice finish on a real bit of modelling history. Thanks for posting.

This really brings back memories for me, not only of the OOB kit but of the conversion articles within Airfix Magazine published in the 1960s.
