Syrian Mig 21 ***COMPLETE***
Syrian Mig 21
The subject of this build is a syrian Mig 21 using the revell 1/48 kit, which is one of two different planes that come in this boxing.
This particular mold is from 1985 and is essentially a scaled down version of their 1970s 1/32 scale Mig and has all that kit's faults, but no matter.
The parts show flash on almost everysprue, which is surprising since this kit was issued in 1989 from that 1985 mold.
The instructions and decals combine the Mig and the Israli F-16 and include a lot of highly suspect interior painting instructions

Re: Syrian Mig 21
The cockp[it is assembled and painted Jade Green which is a close match for Soviet Mig interiors, only a decal is included for the instrument panel. The seat panels are from my decal spares box
Although the kit includes a tail stand, I have added weight to the nose using screws and wax so she will sit on her landing gear
The fuselage is joined, I had to mask and paint the interior supports of the Canopy as its hinged to open.
The Rudder structure and tailp[lanes are next, all parts were poor fitting, a lot of cutting was needed on the tail planes and putty on the rudder mast.
The upper fuselage hump is several pieces (also a poor fit) and wings are added, the wings need putty but at this point my hands cramped badly from arthritis and I had to stop for the day

This is ambitious Chris but you've done a heck of a lot in a very short time.
I was thinking that this GB had died a death. There doesn't seem to be much action left.

Actually I wasn't thrilled with the KP kit, it annoyed me enough to do a Blitz on this little gal.

Get some Chris, this is fast work. Coming on well and you've made a convincing job of the cockpit.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.
