This is a Sci-Fi GB, probably self-explanatory.

This GB started from a thread here.

The GB runs from May 1st to 31st; your GBL is Chris who will fill in any other info.

This was unexpectedly quick getting here on the GB list.

I better find some more paints+filler quick!

Ok, I'm ready to rock & roll.

My opening project is the polar lights USS Enterprise meeting the SS Botony bay.

As above, the TSR2 GB this month will be my main effort so I hope to keep my scifi build(s) relatively simple...first up will be Barbarella's Spaceship from UHU02...it's a movie that I have never seen and a ship that I had never heard of or seen before UHU02 published his version in 2012 - even looking online didn't throw up too many images...the main difficulty I think will be the petals on the sticky-out thingies along the sides: if push comes to shove I may sand these smooth and paper the whole thing overall red...

Depending how the TSR.2 goes, I have some other scifis lined up on the ready-use table...

Although I'll be concentrating on the TSR2 build next month I might come in with a Polar Lights Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser..

I also signed up for the TSR2 GB. My problem is I have so many Sci-fi kits in the inventory, I don't know which one(s) to build.

Wonderfest is at the end of the month so even more incentive to actually finish a few Sci-fi pieces.

Never seen Barbarella Simon? well, it's of its time (i.e. a little bit naff!) but does feature Jane Fonda wearing very little when she was much younger and well worth looking at. The film also features a character by the name of Duran Duran, from where the famous band got their name.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!

By that you mean Claus' vanship, yeah?

To my mind the differences are so great it would almost be simpler to scratchbuild it. I reckon they will release a kit of that soon enough, too. I'm very surprised it wasn't the first one kitted.

I hope that Hasegawa continue to develop this range - to me it is as cool and adventurous as when Airfix did the Angel Interceptor and Eagle Transporter in the 70s and Hasegawa should be supported to encourage further such ventures...

It's also the future of modelling, like it or not, so I think it's a good survival strategy. In my LMS there are Gundam kits stacked floor to ceiling, easily dwarfing everything else. Anime and Wargaming is what the kids are into - fantasy and scifi.
