Tim's TSR-2 Whiffery *DNF*

I'll also be using the Stratos 4 kit for my build.







I cut off part of a couple of sprues in the last pic but I'm sure you know what they look like.

I haven't decided on a colour scheme yet as my decal sheet has gone into hiding. I should be able to hunt them down before the start date.

The decal sheet has been found so here it is.





I started off with the cockpit. The decals went on well and look good. Shame they won't be seen when everything's closed up.

I've also drilled out the holes in the wing to fit the drop tank pylons.



I should have the fuselage closed up tomorrow. After that it'll be some fettling to get the panels to fit well.

the Boscombe down raspberry ripple would have looked brilliant on the TSR2, its shape just lends it's self to the straight lines.

What colours are you going for?

I agree that the Raspberry Ripple scheme looks good and I do plan to build one in that scheme, possibly in flight to go with my Raspberry Ripple Angel Interceptor. This one will be in camouflage, probably RAF although I am drawn towards the South African example as I can't remember seeing one in those markings.

As I haven't done anything for the last couple of weeks I got down to some parts fettling this evening and got the intakes, wing and upper panels fitted.



The intakes will need some filler but the other parts have fitted better than I expected so they should be OK.



I'll do the same to the underside tomorrow. Markings wise I'm thinking of going with a 617 Sqn example with a full load of fuel tanks and possibly some bombs on the outer pylons.

I thought I'd post a picture of the resin set I'll be using on this build.



The belly tank is currently taped to the underside of the fuselage. As you can see it almost completely covers the bomb bay so I won't need any filler on the doors, although I may need some to blend the tank in.



Some sanding saw the lower fuselage panel slide into place. I've also fitted some plastic card shims to the top of the undercarriage legs as they seemed a bit loose.

The belly tank is a good idea and will look good.

Undercarriage doors, ventral tank and refuelling probe have been added.



Although the tank does a good job of covering the ill fitting bomb bay doors it does spoil the sleek lines somewhat.



I hope I've got enough filler for the u/c doors.

I did a bit more to it today. The airbrakes have been fitted and I glued the retaining rings for the fin and tailplanes into the fuselage so that I can push fit and remove them when necessary.



It is a shame about the poorly fitting parts. It would have been better in my opinion if the undercarriage doors had been moulded in one piece with the option to separate them if you wanted to display them open.
