Tim's Slovak Uhu

Post by TimJ »

I'll be building the most recent boxing of the Airfix Fw189 using the Slovak markings supplied with the kit.

I started off by assembling the wings and booms. The underside of the wings have been sprayed white ready for the yellow tips and the lights were backed with Bare Metal Foil.

After leaving them to dry for a while the airframe, apart from the cockpit, was assembled.

So far the fit has been very good and use of filler should be minimal. I've also started painting the interior and undercarriage.

More soon.

Looks a good start, how are you going to deal with all the cockpit framing?
Are you masking or hand painting?
Best wishes

Due to a combination of a loss of mojo and the World Cup there hasn't been much progress I'm afraid. I have got the undercarriage and engine nacelles assembled though.

I'll probably be hand paining them, I don't like the thought of all that masking.
