Chuck's Ta-152 H-1 in 1/72 scale *Finished*

Post by Chuck Finley »

Focke Wulf Ta 152 H-1 of JG-301, 1945

This is the Art Model release in 1/72 scale and basic painting has begun. I plan on building this bird pretty much out of the box with some Eduard pre-painted seat belts.

This is one to keep an eye on. I've got this kit but never seen it built, so I'll be hanging on your every word. :)

The basic build has been finished and once the canopies have been attached, I'll start with RLM 76 on the underside. Since the model will be closed canopy, I added some seatbelts. Those are about the only thing visible with the canopy closed. As far as the kit itself goes, it's not as bad as the MPM SB-2M103 and not as easy as the Airfix AV-8A Harrier or the Monogram M4A1 Sherman in 1/32 that I am working on at the same time. :)

Basic paint added. WEM used for RLM 76, RLM 82, and RLM 83. Xtracolor was used for the RLM 81.

Almost finished. Wheels and other finishing parts added. Now, on to touching up the paint and adding decals.

Thanks. I tend to build around 4 to 6 models a month depending on whether school is in session At this moment, I am also working on a Ki-30 Ann light bomber and a pair of Monogram 1/32 scale armor kits. :)

Lovely paint job, did you use an airbrush or do it freehand?

I airbrush the main scheme and freehand the touch up.

Like others I prefer the short nose versions, but I can appreciate a nice build, and this is a nice looking build and paint finish.
