This is a historical GB honoring the 70th Anniversary of D-Day, 6 June 1944.

Models in this GB must be participants on 6 June, 1944; 5 June if it's a preparation/pre-landing scene (eg, Ike speaking to the 101st). The airborne operations were the first phase of the landings, taking off late on the 5th, and landing after midnight on the 6th and are formally part of the D-Day operation.

Ground, sea, air subjects are all welcome in any kit or scale so long as the variant and markings reflect a D-Day participant.
-- Ground would mean actually landed by air or sea on the soil of France on D-Day, or for Germans stationed in the landing areas.
-- Air and Sea would mean bombardment, transport, and defence/screening forces in the crossing/landing area, or German air/naval forces attacking the area.

This GB started from this thread.

The GB runs from June 6th to July 20th; your GBL is Lancfan who will fill in any other info.

I find a beautiful RAF Mustang Mk I....... :)

My Polish Short-Run MNews Model is ready! :)

I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......

Any objections to a late arrival? I've just discovered an Italeri Horsa that would seem to fit the bill for this GB :-D
Best wishes

The F.22 was too late for wartime service.

Maverick, to remind you- the models have to be of subjects that were used on D-Day. You will be hard pushed to find a mark one flying over Normandy in 1944 and the mark Twenty Two as Daren has said did not enter service until after the war.
