Back a long long time ago (in fact September 1972) I recall the magazine Modelworld did an article that included a page with a set of plans to build a 1/72 British LCP out of card, at the time I never got to build the card model because I didn't want to ruin the set of plans and had no way of copying if and did not have the required skills.

Fast forward to 12:00 today and whilst searching the internet for things to possibly build for this GB I found a page that had the original article so a quick download and ten minutes with Photoshop gave me a good black and white print out on card of the LCP.

Not wanting to start a GB with a pile of dog pooo I thought I had better carry out a quick test build and after only four hours finished up with something that looks almost like a LCP.

My plan now if I get time, is try and add colour to the original print and build another.

If I succeed getting a colour print out I will join the GB if that's OK?

That sounds great Splash, I have the original magazine and will build a full hull version of that myself sometime. Will watch with interest and beer.

What would be appropriate?

If I'd thought, I might have done a little diorama of some entrenched guns and Richard Winters and his men attacking them.

Still, if I've time I might do an 88 or something like that.

Thanks everyone for joining in, we got sixteen models built between us which is a good result. It was an enjoyable build for me despite being kept away for much of the time by work (I had five builds planned but only got two in) and the theme of D-Day and the following invasion will be an ongoing theme for my model collection.
