Correct, no Tiger.

To my knowledge, no Crocodiles came ashore on D-Day - the 79th only landed DD's, AVRE's (all sorts), Crabs, Armored Dozers - David may know better.

Thanks John that's what I thought. Might have to do a mklV instead. I know they were there.

Re the Crab what would be the right number of links per inch be to represent those on the flail in 1/76?
No panic. Found some from Dan Taylor.

I think Tigers were there in Normandy but they didn't see action on 6th June, only a few days later when the Allies had managed to get off the beaches, as they were deliberative held back, more down to uncertainty and vacillation than any tactics of the German high command.

Going with the PSC Churchill AVRE using Dan Taylor decals of the 8th Armoured Brigade on Gold beach 6th June

A fairly simple kit and still not sure what colour I should use so all help appreciated.

Took me abut 5 minutes to get his far
Detail is not too bad and at this rate I reckon I can build everything that was on Gold beach by the end of the GB ;-)

So far so good. Nice little kit that goes together very well. Not surprising as there's only about 20 parts!
I remember making the Airfix Churchill many moons ago and I rapidly became suicidal trying to get the suspension done.
Not sure whether to go with the front track guards or not. Looks sort of racy without them

I thought about converting the Airfix Churchill to an AVRE, but then realised it has the later round hatchs on the side so needs too much work.

I like the look of your kit so will keep an eye out for one.

Keep up the good work you are almost there.

Now, think about doing a nice job of painting.

Without! ;-)
Sometimes the talent consists exactly in that: try five dozen times when others stop at three dozen...! (F.Labelle)
I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......

That looks excellent Toby and beats the hell out of fiddling with all those infamous suspension bits in the old Airfix kit. I also like to see Churchills without the front track guards.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

First coat of Xtracrylix British Khaki Drab goes on.
I have bowed to peer pressure and gone without the front track guards.

Almost done. Just some minor detailing, decals and weathering to do.

Looks good. I had the Matchbox kit with the bridge but always wanted to do the fascine carrier.

Picked up a 35th scale one last year so will probably just end up doing it but this little guy looks nice and easy, two things I look for in a kit.
