Academy BF 109D 1/48
This is an excellent kit that include a nice cockpit and excellent Condor Legion decals as well as some early German markings as well.
Pappy Molders was probably the greatest early war German ace, becoming one over the skies of Spain while flying in the Condor Legion. I will be building his aircraft from that time period.

Re: AE Build3: Academy BF109D Werner Molders in Spain
Disaster struck with this, I loaded up some mr color Japanese graygreen in my airbrush , as this color looks like the color the Germans used. Added some flow medium and nothing happened!
Opening the cup I realized that the paint was ENAMEL not acrylic as I thought (The label is entirely Japanese, and when I brought it from China the add said acrlic!). The paint had turned into gunk and clogged the entire damn thing!! I had to strip it, run thinner and gum terpnine through it several times to clear it, then mixed the proper flow medium for enamels and paint the plane, an extra hours work added.

The nose and prop painted, the canopy painted and added, decals applied and sealed, tailplanes painted and add
Just need to attach the landing gear which is already painted and add some weathering and this guy is done.

Very nice! 109s never looked better than in that Spanish paint scheme.

Wheels added, some detail and weathering done. Unfortunetly I lost the wing thingies and radio mast and will have to fake them, but she is 99% complete

Yes I know the antenna wire should be straight, I will fix it some other time.
