AE Build2: 21st Century Toys 1/32 BF-109F***COMPLETE***
21st Century Toys BF 109F
The subject of this build is an excellent 1/32 kit of my favorite mark of 109, the F. I intend to use the kit decals for this guy and he will require a bit of sanding as there are screws (with plugs) for some parts!

These were great models and it is a real shame that they were so poorly marketed and disappeared from circulation so quickly...they were worth the price just for the decals and pilot figures...I have this one stashed away somewhere and will be following your build with interest...
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...

The moveable landing gear is installed first
The wings are next, the slats up front are moveable
The prop is built
The cockpit and pilot are assembled, at this point my arthritis called building to a halt for today

There are also no part numbers on this kit, but it is pretty straight forward.

Nice start Chris, I have a 109G-14 in the stash, put aside as 1/32 isn't really my scale, but seeing the detail in your build has got me thinking about starting it.

When I built my G-14 I found the vinyl plugs a royal pain in the behind. I found the same diameter plastic knitting needles fit well and cleaned up nicely. Just a thought.

The cockpit and pilot are painted, the pilot is wearing a black leather jacket with brown leather boots, gloves and helmet and has a blue shirt on
The fuselage is joined and the MGs plate on top added, the fit was decent
Unfortunetly the plugs for the screws are not good fits so these are covered in fller and I will sand them smoothe when it dries
The same issue on the wing bottom, not a big deal and its an easy fix
Most of the primary construction is done

A little late with that hint!jssel wrote:When I built my G-14 I found the vinyl plugs a royal pain in the behind. I found the same diameter plastic knitting needles fit well and cleaned up nicely. Just a thought.
A little putty, some sandpaper, I'm good to go.

First white is sprayed and allowed to dry, then RLM 4 yellow is sprayed and set aside to dry over night as tomorrow I will need to mask it.

Re: AE Build2: 21st Century Toys 1/32 BF-109F
Thanks OT.
The yellow is masked and Hellblau (German light blue enamel) is sprayed on, I had to use enamel as I had 4 planes to paint and had three jars of the enamel on hand.
This has to dry overnight.

Not much done today, just painted the upper surfaces white, as my selection for this plane has white distemper paint.
