Well you sure can tell you are not looking at a F-16......unless it is a Starfix kit. :ha:

Really though, it is shaping up.

It is definitely getting there. The Buchon props have always struck me as looking a lot like Spit props and I think you have picked the right starting point to make one.

Nice work so far.
I have this same kit, part started, somewhere.....
According to my references, the Buchon 4 blade prop was a Spitfire IX prop. Early 1112s also used a three blade prop, similar to the Spitfire V.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Thanks for the positive comments, chaps!

Yeah, the Buchon originally used the Rotol prop set-up, similar to the Spitfire. They are interchangeable between the two aircraft!

Restored Buchons nowadays fly with cut-down DC-3 props to give them a more Bf109-ish profile.

I'm about to start putting paint on the thing...!

Buchon in the paintshop...

The scheme is basically the same as the one used on the big Buchon. Still haven't quite figured out the actual markings going on it, but I do wish I had some spare guns and tailplane struts!

~Heat stretched sprue for both. Pull round sprue, to get a flatter oval profile [for tailplane struts] squish the plastic with a pair of pliers.

Quick update:

The Buchon is now sitting up on its gear, and is outfitted with a full compliment of guns, tailplane struts and an aerial mast courtesy of an old '109E.

Starting to look the business - just need to see if I can modify that spinner a little....!

Missy's clearly knackered from all this Buchon-related activity!

And..... DONE!!

All in all, I actually enjoyed building this one somewhat. I think my previous version was done in haste, hence my previous opinion, but, having taken a bit more care than in my kack-handed youth, this one came out much better.

I'd probably buy another, in fact! :-D

Well done. And some say there are kits that are unbuildable.

Thanks, chaps.

It's certainly not as bad as I thought it would be. Sure, it requires a bit more work than, say, the Airfix '109, but if you have some spares handy for the undercarriage and canopy, you can get it to look half-decent. A competent modeller would be able to do far more than I can!

Very nice!

They were quick to get Yellow 10 back in the air after her engine failure a few weeks ago! Fantastic video, too, of John Romain's dead-stick landing!!
